World Day of the Sick 2016 + 4 Health Tips

Is this your first time to hear about this special day? Me, too! Well, according to Wikipedia, it is a feast day of the Roman Catholic Church which was instituted on May 13, 1992 by Pope John Paul II. It began on on February 11, 1993 and is celebrated every year on the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes, as "a special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one's suffering". So let us all take a moment today to think about our fellow men who are sick and offer prayers for them.

After that, I think it is better to talk about health, instead, and how to prevent sickness from happening. We should all commit to make lifestyle choices that will be favorable to our cells for them to stay healthy and fight against diseases and degeneration.

Four Actions For Health :

1. Eat Right
Good health starts with proper nutrition. Nothing could ever replace a meal made from fresh, organic ingredients, prepared the best way that will not reduce its nutritional value. Eat in moderation too! I don't believe in certain food deprivation, as long as there's a good balance of these foods.

2. Exercise Regularly
An active body is a healthy body. There is no need for heavy physical activity, as long as, you're consistent. Rain or shine, you go for a 30-minute run around your neighborhood. Or dance like crazy after jumping out of bed in the morning. You will definitely feel more energized and eventually get the results you want if you're trying to lose weight.

3. Minimize Stress
Happy people are healthy people. Eliminate everything negative in your life. Change your mindset into a positive one. Help others. Think happy thoughts and always smile, not grin, smile from the heart!

4. Make Nutritional Supplement a Life-long Habit
On this day and age, the food that we eat, simply, is not enough anymore. Because our top-soil is so depleted of nutrients due to modern agriculture techniques, plants have less nutritional value these days. That's why we need to eat more to get the nutrients that our body needs. Farmers today rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and pesticides to harvest enough produce to feed the growing population around the world. I think it is more practical to pop a pill or two than eat two tables of food. That is only one of the many reasons why we should take supplements along with the right diet.

And while you're thinking about supplementation, be very wary in choosing the products that you take for your body. I will be sharing with you next time how to choose the right supplement, so hang on for it.

These 4 actions will be difficult at first, but if you're committed enough, and once you've established it in your lifestyle, being healthy will just be normal to you.

PS: It doesn't have to be New Year to make resolutions. Just start NOW, and when you fall, just start all over again until it gets easier. Good luck!
