How I Said Goodbye To Migraine

This is a story of a Migraine Girl.

My migraine attacks started when I was very young. I can hardly remember it, except for the pain I had to endure and didn't understand. It started to occur more frequently when I went to college, especially during the summer. My triggers weren't just the heat and glare. I'll have migraine attacks too when I'm PMS-ing or during my period. Lack of sleep, a strong perfume scent and exams put me through it, as well. I'm not kidding, I remember one semester when I would have a migraine attack the day of the exam. For real!

I've tried and taken a lot of pain killers. Paracetamol, Mefenamic Acid and other NSAIDs. They did provide relief, but only temporarily. Google it and you will find many harmful side effects when used in the long run. It was scary, but I felt that I had no choice.

But what if we actually have a choice? For about a year now, my migraine attacks have become less frequent and less severe. I have been living without it for a few months already and I don't miss it. Sweet sweet life, thank God!

My secret?
I try to eat healthy as often and as much as I could. Been doing this since I got married. Still had migraines though.

I try to get enough quality sleep. It was a struggle though. Working nightshift for more than a decade definitely took its toll on my health.

Only last year that I took to nutritional supplementation and tried USANA Essentials and Pure Rest, among many others. I believe, these two are the reasons why I don't have to endure so much pain anymore.

Pure Rest, a fast-acting pure melatonin supplement, has allowed me to have quality, uninterrupted sleep. I also read yesterday that Melatonin was shown to reduce migraine headaches but with fewer side-effects in a recent study.

The Essentials, on the other hand, contains the most complete nutrition - vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Magnesium in several studies suggest that it may reduce the frequency of migraine attacks in people with low levels of magnesium. A few studies also indicate that Riboflavin (vitamin B2) may reduce the frequency and duration of migraines.

I hope that I could help a lot of you by coming out and sharing my story. I didn't just get rid of pain. The quality of my life has greatly improved and I wish the same for all who are suffering from migraine too!
