3 Simple Ways To Celebrate Organic Harvest Month

September is National Organic Harvest Month as implemented by Organic Trade Association (OTA) to promote organic food and agriculture through regional and local events. It is also the time of the year ideal for consumers and retailers to celebrate the abundance of the organic harvest.

Different kinds of events and celebrations are organized  all throughout North America to highlight organic agriculture and the growing organic products industry. Everyone is called to participate, but if you can't find any event anywhere near your area, there are other ways that you can do to support the cause.

OTA has 15 creative suggestions as to how you can celebrate Organic Harvest Month. I have summed them up into 3 simple ideas below:

  1. Create a celebratory meal made of all the organic fruits and vegetables you bought from your local farmer's market. Invite your family, friends and neighbor to join the fun and cooking. You can have an organic picnic, barbecue or pizza party. When everyone's full, raise a toast to organic! There is a variety of organic refreshments suitable for everyone. It's up to your taste whether you want to have a glass of organic wine, lemonade, tomato juice or tea.

  2. Treat yourself with organic goodies. Take a shower using soap and shampoo made with organic ingredients. Get yourself a pair of 100% organic cotton socks. Indulge yourself with an organic chocolate bar or an organic ice cream. At night, slip under your organic cotton sheets and have a good night's sleep.

  3. Share an organic treat with your co-workers and send some for your children to share in school. You can choose from different available organic snacks and cookies. There are also certified organic raisins, cheese, nuts, fruits, chips and crackers. For sure, they're all going to love it.

Now go, share some love and enjoy celebrating the Organic Harvest Month!
